[Saunders 1942]  Herbaceous Hybrid: Semi-double hybrid with shining, intensely red, broad, cupped petals surrounding a small center of yellow anthers. You won’t find richer color saturation in any other peony. Foliage reaches medium height with very erect stems clothed in dark green leaflets. Blooms early.
