[Menard / D’Aoust 2003] Herbaceous Hybrid: Single flowers are an unusual apricot color and bloom slightly before Red Charm. This rare beauty has good substance and holds its color throughout its bloom season. Unlike many hybrid peonies, each stem carries the main flower and two sidebuds, extending bloom season. Deep pink flares at the base of each petal are accentuated by the dark pink base of the golden stamens. An F2 hybrid that is fully fertile makes this a significant cultivar for hybridizers. Distinguished as the 2024 Peony of the Year by the Canadian Peony Society, this exceptional peony is still rare in the United States. Lightly fragrant. Blooms early.
