[Friend 1996]  Lactiflora: An unusual introduction from Sunnyside, Washington with showy, rose-form double flowers that are pink and stippled with a profusion of dark pink speckles accented with occasional red flecks. Attractive shrubs have strong stems and attractive, dark green foliage. No staking makes this an ideal landscape plant. Gorgeous flowers make it an exceptional cut flower. Named after the hybridizer’s mother, this peony was awarded the APS Gold Medal. Blooms early midseason.
