[Saunders 1944]  Herbaceous Hybrid: This seldom seen peony is one of Dr. Saunders’ famous 'Lobata of Perry' hybrids which set the standard for new colors in peonies. Semi-double flowers open a bright tomato red before slowly changing to salmon pink surrounding a golden heart. Flowers are nicely displayed above tall foliage making this a great choice for the back of a perennial border. Weather resistant to wind and rain. Blooms early.
