[Saunders 1940]  Herbaceous Hybrid:  Brilliant red hybrid sets a new color standard with intensely colored, true red flowers surrounding a shaggy center of bright yellow stamens. Petals have an almost waxy finish that provides a luminous quality that always attracts attention. This is one of the finest introductions from Dr. Saunders’ 'Lobata of Perry' hybrids. Rarely available. Compact shrubs have vibrant green foliage reaching 30” tall. Blooms early.
