[Wolfe/Hollingsworth 1998]  Lactiflora: Large, showy anemone style flowers open cyclamen purple. The center ball of petaloids lightens in the sun providing a stunning contrast with the darker guard petals. Dark purple carpels nestle in the heart of the flowers, developing into showy sheed pods in late summer. Spring foliage is deep purple on spring emergence, growing into robust shrubs that are tall and broad. The abundance of bloom may require support. Blooms late midseason.
