[Newhouse 1939]  Lactiflora: Exquisitely formed, single flowers are pure white.  Large petals surround a small, bright golden yellow pom-pom of stamens in the center of each bloom. As the flowers mature red-tipped carpals emerge adding extra interest.  Attractive foliage forms a dense, upright shrub with stems that carry the myriad flowers just above the foliage for a lovely landscape display. Foliage turns vibrant orange in the fall, adding another season of interest. Weatherproof  and an excellent garden plant. Blooms midseason.
